Well it has been a long time since I posted last. There have been a lot of changes. Terry is four years old now and doing great!! He is doing so many new things that it is hard to keep up. Today he got his wheel chair and he is loving that!! He is so independent now! He is in his second year of school and doing well there! As you can see by the picture Terry is loving life and all it has to offer him! He is still doing the horse therapy and he does PT twice a week, Once in school and once at the Children's hospital. I keep him very busy..well actually he keeps me very busy!! I know he will be walking soon...he is doing well with that too. He just has to figure out how to stand on his own and maintain his balance. He is such a joy! I love to just watch him and see how his mind works and watching him problem solve is one of the best things. He is really good at it!!! Terry has many friends and he touched the heart of every one that he meets!! I will do my best to blog more often but like I said things here are very busy and I really don't get a chance to sit down and do this... I think I need to just set a time every day to do this. There is so much to catch up on!!

MY ANGEL
There has been a lot going on here at the "Bergeron" hoouse. Terry is doing more and more every day. He is feeding himself on a regular basis and doing a great job at it. he is trying to be more independent and is surely on his way. His therapist are working with him on learning to crawl and I think before spring or at least the end of spring he will master it, he still has trouble trying to figure out where to put his left hand but I know my lil man he will figure that one out too. We are so proud of all that he is doing. He is still just as happy as he can be! Always smiling and ready to have a good time. I love to sit and watch him play. it is really interesting to me to see how he manipulates things in his world to get what he needs or wants. He is talking more and learning new words and sounds daily. If i have learned one thing from my son it is not to ever listen to what people say you can do and just do what you want to do. Terry's doctors have told us that there was so much he would NEVER DO...and guess what he has shown them not to label him...he is forever learning and always doing new things. some of the things he loves to do are: paint with sidewalk chalk paint on the driveway, color in his coloring books, he loves to see how things work and he like to try to take things apart to see how they work. he loves to be with his sisters and his daddy and me. But when his great grandmother comes over he tends to forget about us and plays with her! it is so cute to see them playing together!!!

EVER CHANGING
This picture was taken January 2010 just before we moved in to our new house. As you can see Terry has grown alot and he is doing so much now. In the last year he has learned to sit up on his own fjor long periods of time, he stands and walks with assistance. His vocabulary has grown quite a bit. He is currently trying to feed himself. We are so proud of all that he has learned to do. It is hard to remember everythig that he has done. He is in school now and he loves it!! He just loves to be in school and with other children that are close to his age. he learned how to finger paint (not that he didn't know how to do that before he started school) he knows how to hold and use a glue stick, paint with a paint brush... IF I WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO HIS NEUROLOGIST...sure glad I didn't look what my baby can do. He is 3 years old now and doing way more than his doctor thought or gave him credit to do...When I look at Terry I see no limitations I see a little boy that is goingto go far in this lifetime! He is still doing the horseback riding and doing well. He is now learning how to groom his horse and he loves to feed her the snack after his lesson. He is still the happy little boy he has always been maybe even a little more happier since he started school. I have to admit that I was afraid to send him to school at first. There was a fear of how he would adjust to being in school but when that bus picked him up the first day that was it he was hooked!!! I am going to try really hard to update his blog every week....atleast!!! Friday, May 28, 2010
FOR TERRY
YOU WERE SENT FROM ABOVE
YOU WERE SENT HERE TO LOVE
YOU ARE MOMMY'S SHINING STAR
NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE
YOUR SMILES LIGHT UP THE DAYS
IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS
EVERY DAY YOU SHINE BRIGHTER
BECAUSE YOU ARE OUR LITTLE FIGHTER
YOU WERE SENT HERE TO LOVE
YOU ARE MOMMY'S SHINING STAR
NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE
YOUR SMILES LIGHT UP THE DAYS
IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS
EVERY DAY YOU SHINE BRIGHTER
BECAUSE YOU ARE OUR LITTLE FIGHTER
DOING SO MUCH
It has been a long time since my last post, but that is because Terry keeps me real busy, He will be 3 years old in 57 days and it seem like he is making up for "lost time" he is really making some good advances. he is using the gait trainer a lot more now and handling it well. His vocabulary is expanding every day. He is feeding himself more, though he wont hold finger foods in his hands yet, I think it is because he don't like how they feel. BABY FOOD: a thing of the past, he wants what we eat...can you blame him? Have you ever tasted baby food? YUCK!!!! He is learning how to get around in the house in his little blue rocking chair, it is the cutest thing in the world to watch him do. We are so proud of him and all that he is doing. He will be starting school in September, I am not sure how I feel about this at this point. I know it will be good for him, but it is the whole separation thing for me. I know it is only for a few hours 3 to 4 days a week, but I have not been away from him at all since he came home from the NICU. What will I do with the time???? Terry is learning how to ride his tricycle and doing well I might say! He still can not stand up by himself. but he will stand and play at the couch or at his table. The horse back riding is helping him strengthen the muscles he needs to be able to stand independently and I know he will get there one day. He is trying to crawl but gets angry when he can't get his left hand to do what he wants it to do. Terry has done some amazing things since he had his eye surgery in February...I still say that his vision problem is what held him back partly....

ADVANCING IN MY RIDING LESSONS

Well terry had his first Spring Session riding lesson today and has done very well. His daddy took him, which was a good thing because it gives them a chance to be together...just the two of them! I just got off the phone with David and he said Terry was doing some new and wonderful things..he is using stirrups now and he just started kicking off of them. which shows that he is beginning to bare weight more on his legs. He was much more aware of his surroundings and very opinionated today. Knew what he wanted and he was gonna get it!!!! just wanted to do a quick update of Terry's riding!!

It has been a long time...we have been so busy with the move and all. Terry is doing well! Getting stronger every day! Still just as happy as he always is! February was a bad month for our family....Terry's Great Grandmother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and was in the hospital from 2/27/10 until 3/12/10. Grandma has been with us here beginning 3/12/10. Terry loves having a room mate!!! It is so cute sometimes to listen to them through the monitor talking to each other, or hearing grandma singing to him when he wakes up during the night. Terry has his corrective surgery on his eyes on 2/11/10... oh lord that was an experience! Yes, I cried when they took him from me to take him to the operating room...I do it every time!!!! He did well! We did have a hard time getting him to wake up and stay awake! But Terry never does any thing by the "book" he had to have elbow restraints on him arms for the first few days, and let me tell you he HATED them!!! his eyes look wonderful....not that they didn't before the surgery. So i guess the right way to phrase it is...Terry's eyes no longer cross! Dr. Lal-Trail thought there would have to be more surgeries, but I am VERY HAPPY TO REPORT THAT TERRY DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE SURGERIES ON HIS EYES!!!!! He will have to go back in to the hospital for10 days for a "anal repair" his booty "hole" is hanging out more than the doc would like it too, but we are not going to be able to do anything about that right now, there is other things going on, and the doc said we could wait on it as long as it is not causing problems for Terry, and it is not for the most part. Some times he has a little bleeding and that is from his little "berry" ( as we like to call it) rubbing on the diaper, so I keep his butt covered in desitin..... that way there is nothing rubbing on the diaper. Terry is doing so may new things now he is trying to walk holding on to the couch..."side walking" he is still not able to stand on his own but he is getting there. Terry is such an inspiration to me because no matter what he has gone through or will be going through he still finds a reason to smile and keep on going. he has had some bad days lately and with him having therapy 4 times a week, sometimes 2 therapies on the same day, he keeps going bad mood or not! I think us adults should take some lessons from our little guys with special needs or disabilities.....always find the good in a bad day and smile and keep on going!!!!
